BACKGROUND:

“U.S. and allied combat operations continue to highlight the value of unmanned systems in the modern combat environment. Combatant Commanders  and warfighters value the inherent features of unmanned systems, especially their persistence, versatility, and reduced risk to human life. The U.S. military Services are fielding these systems in rapidly increasing numbers across all domains: air, ground, and maritime…

The DoD’s vision for unmanned systems is the seamless integration of diverse unmanned capabilities that provide flexible options for Joint Warfighters while exploiting the inherent advantages of unmanned technologies, including persistence, size, speed, maneuverability, and reduced risk to human life. DOD envisions unmanned systems seamlessly operating with manned systems while gradually reducing the degree of human control and decision making required for the unmanned portion of the force structure…

[Some of ] the challenges facing all military Services in the Department include:  Interoperability , Autonomy, [and] Manned-Unmanned (MUM) Teaming…” (DoD Unmanned Systems Integrated Roadmap, ‘FY 2011- 2036)

DSI’s team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Summits’ content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in the community from operational leaders, program managers, key policy-makers, as well as solution providers from Industry and Academia. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all involved organizations to bring together a truly holistic group.
